In partnership with the Dean of Students, Latin American Studies, Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, Department of Theatre, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Office of Academic Diversity and Outreach, Women’s Center, Department of Sociology & Anthropology, and the Global Union are proud to present:

Platanos and Collard Greens, a play based on David Lamb’s book Do Platanos go Wit’ Collard Greens? Tell the story of two college students, Freeman, an African-American man, and Angelita, a Latino woman, both forced to confront and overcome cultural and racial prejudices, while defending their bond from the biases held by family and friends.

This is a though-provoking romantic comedy that tactfully addresses stereotypes, prejudices, and urban myths that exist between African-American and latinos, within the context of Hip-Hop, humor, and satire.

Time: 7:00pm
