Girl Rising Film Screenings

Thursday, October 10, 2013 - 1:00pm
MRC/COE Student Lounge (B103)

Girl Rising tells the stories of nine girls from different parts of the world who face arranged marriages, child slavery, and other heartbreaking injustices. Despite these obstacles, the brave girls offer hope and inspiration by fighting for their access to education. The film offers a powerful glimpse into how the power of education and the strength of women everywhere can create positive change.

The Caring for Cambodia Club, along with the COE Multicultural Resource Center, Southeast Asia at Lehigh, and the Global Citizenship Program will be hosting two film screenings of Girl Rising on Wednesday, October 9 at 7pm in Neville 002 and Thursday, October 10 at 1pm in the MRC (Iacocca Hall B103).

We also invite you to attend a brown bag discussion about the major themes in the film and what it means for the future of education and women’s equity on Thursday, October 10 at 3pm in the MRC (Iacocca Hall B103).

Please join us for a film screening and discussion! All are welcome!
