Bio of Dr. Ronald H. Rozensky
Ronald H. Rozensky, Ph.D., ABPP, is Professor in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida where he served as departmental chair for eight years and Associate Dean for International Programs for four years. Prior to that he was Associate Chair of Psychiatry at the Evantson Hospital and Professor at the Northwestern University Medical School. He has chaired the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Board of Educational Affairs (BEA) and Board of Professional Affairs, and chaired the Commission on the Recognition of Specialties and Proficiencies in Professional Psychology for three years. He served on APA’s Board of Directors and Council of Representatives. He is past chair of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages and participated in making recommendations to Congress on healthcare reform focusing on interprofessional education & training and the importance of health behaviors in integrated care. He was an invited participant in the Carter Center’s summit on primary care and behavioral health.  He received a $1 million grant from SAMSHA to found the National Rural Behavioral Health Center. Dr. Rozensky is board certified in both clinical and clinical health psychology. He is the founding editor of the Journal of Clinical Psychology in Medical Settings and has published five textbooks on health psychology and numerous book chapters and over 75 journal articles on health psychology and health policy. His honors include APA’s Award for Distinguished Career Contributions to Education and Training in Psychology, APA’s Award for Distinguished Contributions to Institutional Practice, BEA’s Education Advocacy Distinguished Service Award, APA’s Heiser Presidential Award for Advocacy on Behalf of Professional Psychology, the American Board of Professional Psychology’s Award for Distinguished Service and Contributions to the Profession of Psychology, the Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers’ Distinguished Educator Award and its first Joseph D. Matarazzo Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in Academic Health Centers, the APA Division of International Psychology’s Distinguished Contribution to Global Psychology Award, the Illinois Psychological Association’s Distinguished Psychologist Award,  and he is a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academies of Practice.
