Dr. Lisa Thomas Wins 2017 E.G. Ted Carr Early Career Practitioner Award

Dr. Lisa Thomas is the 2017 recipient of the E.G. “Ted” Carr Early Career Practitioner Award.

This award is given to an early career practitioner whose work in positive behavior support demonstrates outstanding achievements in mentorship, service, and commitment to the application of PBS principles and technology in the field. Edward G. “Ted” Carr was a teacher, researcher and pioneer in the field of PBS. His early career work focused on examining the environmental origins of self-injurious behavior in children with autism. He was a professor at Stony Brook University and was one of the key founders of PBS.

Lisa is the very first recipient of this annual award. She will be recognized at the upcoming 2017 Association for Positive Behavior Support conference in Denver, CO, for which she has been asked to deliver a research-based presentation.

Congratulations Lisa – well deserved. This award is great recognition for your work in training, coaching and implementing D-PBIS across the organization.
