Enhancing education by integrating philosophies, practices and technologies that advance teaching and learning in diverse instructional settings.

Teachers, schools, and industries are looking to incorporate more technology into teaching and learning. Our certificate and master’s degree programs are targeted toward people from varied backgrounds who want to learn to incorporate technology more effectively in educational settings.

The master’s degree in instructional technology is a 30-credit program aimed at those interested in the systematic planning and use of technology, particularly in school settings. 

The Technology Use in the Schools certificate is a 12-credit program aimed at post-certification in-service teachers, informal educators, instructional technologists, and others seeking to expand their skills and knowledge of instructional technology. Students enrolled in the Technology Use in the Schools certificate program will learn best practices in how to implement and integrate new and emerging instructional technologies to enhance learning outcomes in a variety of school settings and informal learning environments.

Our doctoral program focuses on best practices in teaching and learning, including the design, development and integration of instructional technologies. The program uses a scientist-practitioner model that unites research with application.

Students concentrate in teaching, learning and instructional technology in school-based and non-formal and online learning environments.

In addition, students work with faculty on a variety of scholarly projects in areas such as learner motivation and engagement, teacher professional development, technology integration in the schools and the design and development of instructional technologies. They regularly publish in the field’s leading journals and also present their research findings at national and international conferences.
